Sintokogio, Ltd., parent company of the Sinto Group, was originally founded in 1934 as Kubota Seisakusho, a foundry equipment design and manufacturing firm. In 1959, on its 25th anniversary, the company changed its name to Sintokogio, Ltd., and relocated its main production facilities to Toyokawa city, just outside the centrally located city of Nagoya, Japan. In 1962, Sintokogio was first listed on the main boards of both the Tokyo and Osaka stock exchanges, strengthening Sinto's image as a world leader in the foundry equipment and related industries. Today, Sintokogio, Ltd. is the parent company to 40 subsidiary and affiliate companies, 26 of which are located in Japan, and 14 are overseas in 7 different countries. The Sinto group employs over 3,000 people worldwide, and in 1998, Sinto grossed over 70 billion yen in net sales. |
